You may have some questions regarding Liz teaches piano, or piano and singing lessons in general. I have put together some FAQ- Frequently Asked Questions.
If I buy a ‘pack’ of lessons can I choose when to use them?
No. Discounted lesson packs (5 or 10 sessions) are only available to students who commit to attending lessons once per week. This structure ensures consistency and progress over time.
If you prefer not to have weekly lessons, you’re welcome to book individual drop-in lessons instead, which are available at the single lesson price.
Please note: that if the schedule you would like is not once a week, I cannot reserve a day and time for your lessons. This is because I cannot keep a space vacant for weeks or months when not being used. You will need to contact me and I can tell you the vacant time I have the week you would like a drop in lesson.
Travel lessons are not available as drop-in sessions. Travel time and locations need to align efficiently with other scheduled students, so these lessons are only offered to those who commit to a consistent weekly time slot.
If you’re looking for more flexibility without a weekly commitment, individual drop-in lessons are available at the single lesson price at my music room.
Will you reserve a lesson time slot for me each week without me paying?
Time slots for lessons cannot be reserved without payment. My studio operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and in this case, “first-come” means “first to pay.” This means that while you’re considering a time, someone else may book and pay for it, making it unavailable. To secure your preferred time, prompt communication and payment is essential.
Do you have an age requirement?
For adults there is no age requirement! For children, so many different things can be a factor in whether a child is ready to learn piano. For children between 6-8 years old, the lessons are more a music workshop time where their guardian is also participating in the songs and music, and the emphasis is on fun rather than teaching. For more details about workshops see the workshop page, or get in touch should you like to know more. I do not teach children under 6 years of age.
What is your cancellation policy for piano lessons?
I will always run a kind, fair business, and will always be as flexible as possible. A customer cancellation policy is necessary for the protection of my livelihood, and to be able to schedule sustainably. This also benefits the student as it helps to ensure a consistent schedule and reinforces a successful approach to music study.
Once you have booked a pack of lessons with me it means that I have reserved that time in my schedule exclusively for you, and prepared the time and lesson accordingly.
Customer Cancellation policy
Regarding holidays and planned absence- please let me know as soon as possible, (ideally at least two weeks in advance) so I can plan around this.
However, occasionally things happen which are unavoidable.
Therefore, you have one “free pass” in your pack of 5 lessons. This means if you cancel your lesson with less than 24 hrs notice for any reason this will be rescheduled to the same time the next week. Other rescheduling times are at my discretion.
If you cancel again with less than 24 hrs notice after the “free pass” within a 5 lesson pack the missed lesson will be included as one of your 5 lessons.
I take care to prepare high-quality, individualized lessons for each student because I value your time and progress. In return, I ask that my time also be valued. If there are ongoing cancellation challenges, late payments, or I feel that lessons are not the right fit, I reserve the right to discontinue lessons. I’ll always communicate openly and respectfully should this ever be necessary.
I will be as compassionate as I can be, so if you have any questions about this, please contact me, and keep me updated on circumstances which will affect your lessons.
Otherwise, I will assume your full understanding of and willingness to follow the above stated policy.
I also offer 10 packs of lessons. You can download the 10 lesson customer cancellation policy in Swedish or english below, along with the 5 pack cancellation policy in Swedish.
Can I request different length lessons?
Yes, as students are all different and need different lessons. These will be discussed and priced upon request. I am unable to teach any shorter amount of time than half an hour.
